Write your government and demand change in your water management

Throughout this site, you are led to this page, because what Blue Gold demonstrates above all is that the only lasting change in our water management must occur through government legislation.

From retired Wisconsin citizens writing letters to Michigan citizens suing corporations to grade school students protesting to their school board, Blue Gold is filled with examples of citizens contacting their government to make their voices heard and demand their rights to water.

Most inspiring is Uruguay's successful campaign to revise their constitution and make water a fundamental public right. This is the model the world must follow and will follow when people act.

A group of regular people formed the Michigan Citizens for Water Conservation (MCWC) and raised money to sue Nestle from taking their region's water.

Take Action:

  1. Find the contact information for your local government in your state and city.
  2. Write them. If your water is privatized, insist it is made public. If it is not yet privatized, let your government know you are aware of the issue and insist they keep it public. Let them know their votes depend on it.
